“ This place was packed when we went. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The only real drawback was that almost no one spoke much English at all so ordering was quite difficult and there was some confusion about what was included and what was not included in our lunch set. Please note that I have no expectation that folks speak English when I'm not in an English speaking country (I speak several languages but Malay isn't one of them) but simply find it convenient when it is spoken. This language limitation is not a part of my four star review. An overall very pleasant place (no AC), and clearly not "geared for tourists", which I greatly appreciate. I was the only Caucasian there, and happily so! ”
“ I came over after a long tennis game and huge craving of limau kosong ais. When it came I almost downed the drink and yess they made it exactly the way I like it, no sugar with sufficient amount of lime (Mamak always get this portion wrong). The fried Indomee with sunny side up though is GREAT. They fried it with sufficient vegetables and the noodles was soft yet chewy with a mix of Indomee flavouring and other seasonings. I forgot to mention how perfect the sunny side up is, golden,runny and pure yummy. It' s located at Center Point so if you're in Bandar Utama and looking for a mamak, look no further than this one! The ambience is just like any other mamak with some outdoor area for you to "lepak" with your friends. No worries it's not at all hot either, perfectly chilling and the great thing is the delicious mamak food. ”
“ The Banana Leaf Restaurant is my usual hangout place in Centrepoint, and while its reputation has caused itself to spawn various branches around the PJ area, it is undeniable that this restaurant deserves a review that justifies its taste. Putting the famous banana leaf rice aside, the drinks, food and ambience are all top notch, with its hygiene being noted for being at a level that most mamaks cannot match. Of course, their food and drinks are pretty much very good, and I love their roti telur, where the fluffy dough is being beaten and cooked to perfection, and its various curries bringing out the flavor of the egg out to your outstretched tongue. Do note that their best dish is still their all-famous banana leaf rice, a delicacy that should only be tasted if you have friends; I believe you will have to ask your friends to stop you from ordering more. Trust me on that, kids. ”
“ A late night mamak session in Bandar Utama? How about Banana leaf restaurant? It has been told that most people who lived in BU, knows about this place. People from around the neighbourhood gather there for football, assignment, catch up session and many more. Serving from a wide range of food including roti canai, thosai, indo mee to nasi lemak, nasi ayam and many more. Although the service is sometimes slow, this restaurant is open 24 hours, so if you can't sleep and want to quench your thirst with some teh'o ais, come on over! ”
